Overhead cranes are mostly designed as welded rolled-steel joists or box-girders while their production is characterized by high costs and a huge period of time. At the Institute for Material Handling and Logistics (IFL) a new overhead crane concept was developed which stands out due to the combining of standardized components to a truss structure. These components are pre-stressed by tension anchors to maintain the contacts between the single elements. This report deals with different modeling strategies which can be used in the frame of current research to determine the elastic as well as dynamic characteristics of the segmented bearing structure.Downloads
