Guidance systems with supporting rollers can be found in many applications in intralogistics that are exposed to high loads. Profiled beams made of steel materials are often used as main components. Their movement requires a significant energy amount because of the high dead load. The present article describes the development of these components made of fiber-reinforced plastics. It focuses the transmission of high contact forces into the beams. Essential requirements are described as well as the development of a purpose-built roller test bench. The article furthermore includes a methodic concept design and the derivation of a test methodology that can be used to analyze material strength under the influence of a roller.Downloads
