Abstract

A light, heavy-duty, flexibly usable shelf is presented in a sandwich composite construction using renewable raw materials. Integrated is a tie rod system. Depending on the future load, the top layers of the sandwich composite are prestressed by pressure via the internal tie rods, which increases the stiffness. Spans of up to three meters can be achieved. With this structure, rel-atively large loads can be absorbed in relation to the dead weight. The areas of application are versatile due to the simple structure. So the shelf can contribute to increasing flexibility in companies, so that e. g. a kind of scaffolding can be used to create a second level to expand accessible storage areas.
