Abstract

Automated shuttle buses are part of future mobility concepts due to their flexibility and cost efficiency. In order to enlarge the expansion of pilot operations with automated shuttle buses, local authorities and transport companies in particular need information on the possible uses of the vehicles in public areas. On the basis of a best-practice analysis and a mar-ket analysis, this paper presents requirements for pilot routes and infrastructure for the introduction of automated shuttle buses in public areas. Fur-thermore, the results of the analysis are evaluated in relation to the time horizon.
