Abstract

Predictive maintenance based on socalled digital twins is regarded as a central innovation in industry 4.0. It has been recognised as a key issue for the industry and is seen as a prerequisite for future success, since it can help to make the planning of maintenance measures and the associated decisions in the complex industrial environment more targeted and active. Intralogistics, which contributes significantly to the economic success of companies, is particularly required to anticipate the possibilities of digitization as soon as possible due to the strategic importance and the urgent need to ensure technical availability. This contribution takes up the existing approaches and methods of maintenance management and tries to link it with the possibilities and visions of industry 4.0, thereby creating a concept for integrated (holistic), knowledgebased maintenance in intralogistics.
