This article introduces a decentralized methodology for integrated system and layout planning. The concept for system planning is based on intelligent planning objects, which represent the autonomous units within the planning of logistical systems. These intelligent planning objects are depicted in a multi-agent assistance system. Based on the intelligent planning objects, the system planning concept is divided into the phases composition, configuration and adaption. These are modeled as rule-based interactions between the intelligent planning units. The concept for the integrated layout planning is based on the usage of a mathematical model. Therefore, appropriate agents for the layout planning were designed. The optimization problem described in the mathematical model is solved by using a heuristic. An agent system organizes the execution of the heuristic algorithm for all possible layout constellations and evaluates them. Thus, it offers support from the task description to the resource selection and all the way to layout planning in the form of an assistance system.Downloads
