Abstract

Especially in the case of electrical drive systems energy costs are firmly in focus of electrical drive systems. Many account approaches focus on energy costs and compare them with asset costs in order to find solutions for improved energy efficiency. Other follow-up costs during the life cycle of electrical drives in conveyor systems are often not analyzed or are not taken into account in the life-cycle. Using relevant engineering standards and guidelines this article describes an approach for calculating life-cycle costs over several periods of life from project planning to disposal. Direct costing and process cost calculations are performed with the help of process chains, resulting in precise cost predictions. Hence, a multi-stage model life-cycle cost model for conveyor systems can be developed and example conveyor systems can be analyzed and calculated.
