Neuartige Produktionslogistik für eine wandelbare und flexible Automobilproduktion

Abstract

This article presents the necessary changes in production logistics of automobile manufacturing for the upcoming years. Due to the higher amount of car models and continuing growth of variations, it became nearly impossible to produce vehicles economically using rigid conveyor techniques. In the context of the research project ARENA2036 (Active Research Environment for the Next Generation of Automobiles), new concepts for assembly and logistics including new technologies are being developed to make production flexible for the future. This paper describes the current results of the project in terms of new and innovative production logistics for the automobile industry.
