Abstract

Industrial trucks are responsible for a substantial contribution to the total greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. In Germany the VDI-Cycle is the current instrument to forecast the energy or fuel consumption of industrial trucks. This driving cycle is slightly different for some truck types, but not related to the individual usage profile of a specific vehicle. It shall be evaluated how a modular designed prognosis model delivers an improved forecast. The evaluation will consider the additional effort which might be combined with this new approach. The MTL measurement system records the energy comsumption of an industrial truck. Additionally it records important influence parameters. First measurements are described exemplarily in this paper.
