Abstract

The requirement for a customised and flexible production, which can produce small batch sizes cost-effectively leads to modular, mobile factories in the process industry. For accomplishing this aim both the production elements and the logistics components will be placed into containers and conflate to a module. This requires the conceptualisation of warehouses but also of complex packaging machinery. Following the plug-and-produce principle these units can be connected to full production lines. The controlling and organisation follow the idea of Industry 4.0.
