Computer-aided rope drive analysis for multiple reeving systems

Determine the number of bending cycles is a basic step in the life time analysis of running wire rope systems. During a rope drive inspection particular attention should be paid to the rope sections which endured the most bending cycles during time of operation. Espe-cially in multiple reeving systems these rope sections are not easily evident. On a geometrical basis of multiple reeving systems a computer-aided analysis tool is presented to determine the number of bending cycles along the wire rope during an operation cycle.Downloads
