Abstract

Because of the high drilling costs an economic power production of deep geothermal energy is currently elusive. Since the production costs of deep wells depend directly on the production time, the non-productive processes require an intensive optimization. Primarily, processes which lead to an interruption of the drilling process will be analyzed and optimized. These processes are mainly the transport of the pipes between rack and working platform as well as the connection process of the pipes. In context of this paper, approaches to rede-sign the processes and motion sequences for a deep drilling rig are developed and their time savings are investigated.
