Abstract

This paper examines the real-time capabilities of an AR-based crane control system. The research is focused on developing an intuitive control system for overhead cranes using AR glasses. To establish wireless communication in a factory hall, a computer network is set up that interprets gesture-based inputs and transmits them via ROS-2 middleware to a central computer, which then sends the control commands via radio. The end-to-end latencies of the cyber-physical system are of great importance for practical usability and for the user-friendliness of the human-machine interface.
