In the research project, a non-contact direct drive system for highly dynamic belt conveyors is being developed. The conveying force is impressed on the belt according to the principle of the linear asynchronous machine. To implement the drive principle, the belt must have a flat copper structure that represents the secondary part of the asynchronous machine. For economic reasons, the resulting belt conveyor with a new type of drive system should be characterized by small deflection radii, the elimination of additional tension members and the achievement of the best possible motor efficiency. The copper structure, which is integrated in the belt, is of outstanding importance for this research goal. In this article, the result of considering the mechanical properties of the copper materials is presented and evaluated.Downloads
