In order to be able to represent the bulk material behaviour correctly for the DEM simulation, a calibration of the bulk material parameters is necessary. The draw down test is used as the calibration method, which provides the value for the static and rolling friction of the particles. Slip and roll tests provided the other material parameters. In order to determine the stresses in the bulk material and between bulk material and container wall, the young’s modulus of the bulk material is required. For its exact determination a pressure test with bulk material in a container was performed which was compared with a DEM simulation. This paper describes a complete process for determining all parameters required for stress calculation.Downloads
