Intelligent bins are equipped with various sensors, local memory, an own computing unit and energy supply. These bins can form a self-controlled, decentrally organized warehouse management. Besides the basic functionalities of a warehouse management system, such a system needs an intelligent self-control in order to match the requirements of industry and retail. We present two concepts, using machine learning for a data driven improvement of risk-based inventory management and of automated storage location assignment.Downloads
