Abstract

Within the framework of a researcher group at the Institute of Mechanical handling and Logistics it is being quested on high strength fibre ropes with integrated force measuring sensors and a completely new rope termination. During the closing process the fibre ropes are equipped with capacitive or resistive yarn sensors, which can be connected with the measuring electronic during the process of assembling of the rope termination. For transmission of highest tensile force a novel monolithic termination for fibre ropes is being developed which can also transfer the occurring tensile force during tension-tension stress in a safe way.
