Abstract

This article aims to present an energy efficient storage location assignment policy for automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS). This policy provides significantly lower energy consumption while maintaining AS/RS throughput requirements. A simulation study is executed in order to compare the energy efficient storage policies with state of the art policies.
