Abstract

Energy efficiency in technical logistics. The impact of energy efficient products and processes on the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere is subject of complex mechanisms and is thus difficult to quantify. Paying regard to both, climatic reasons and political process, this paper deals with the development of an energy-efficient conveyor chain by the means of an Environmental Product Declaration. This serves as an example for calculating the environmental impact of material handling systems using life cycle assessment methods.
