Abstract

This paper describes the systematic and agile development of a long goods transporter. The existing market for long goods transport was analyzed, and a vehicle based on the findings from the tugger-trailer sector was developed. Steering concepts for the vehicle were developed and then implemented in a prototype. Results of the test phase at a user site were analyzed in order to establish a universal order picker for long goods.
